Common questions
How do I delete my account?
Open the app → Profile tab → Settings (top right) → Privacy & Data → Delete my account. There's a 30-day grace period during which signing back in cancels the deletion. After 30 days, your account is hard-deleted and your pins are anonymized.
How do I export my data?
Same place: Settings → Privacy & Data → Download my data. You'll get a JSON file with your profile, pins, ratings, follows, and reports filed, plus a zip of every photo you've posted. The export takes a few minutes; we'll email you when it's ready.
Why isn't my dish showing on the map?
Pins appear immediately for you. They're rate-limited for other users in their first hour to prevent spam — if it's still not visible after that, email us with the dish name and roughly when you posted it.
Someone posted something that shouldn't be there.
Tap the pin → tap the ⋯ menu → Report. Reports are reviewed by a human within 24 hours; severe content (CSAM, threats, doxxing) is triaged immediately. You can also email trust@platemap.pl.
I want to change my handle / display name.
Profile → Settings → Edit profile. Your handle can be changed once every 30 days; display names can be changed any time.
Can I use PlateMap outside Warsaw?
You can post pins from anywhere, but the map is curated for Warsaw right now — that's where we're concentrating density so the leaderboards mean something. We'll open the next city once Warsaw has the coverage we want.
Why does the app ask for location?
To center the map on dishes near you, and to suggest the venue when you pin a plate. We don't track location in the background, never store your exact capture coordinates publicly, and never share your location with anyone. See the Privacy Policy for details.
I forgot which Google / Apple account I signed up with.
